When you do your marketing right, what happens is what I call "newsletter magic."
And Alice is doing it right.
Alice is a copywriter who specializes in the retirement industry because that's where her 25 or 30 years of experience is.
I'm going to tell you a little story about Alice. She has been doing outreach and networking and, three months ago, she started her email newsletter.
Last week, she got this message from one of her subscribers:
I have received a couple of your newsletters and quickly looked at them and deleted them. Today I took some time and read them. You are the person I've been looking for. I am a great at designing retirement plans, talking technical to clients and running a business successfully. However, I lack content for my website and newsletters. I need someone who knows the business to write the content based on the topic I choose for the month or quarter. Please let me know your availability in the next couple of weeks to have a conversation regarding your services. Thank you looking forward to speaking to you."
Yesterday. Alice had that conversation.
And she now has a new client with a six month contract to write monthly newsletters!
Good for you, Alice. Congratulations, you are doing it right.
The problem is, we can't know when this is going to happen. I know that's one of the most frustrating things. And I don't hold up these examples, especially Alice, to say, "Just do what Alice did and this is what will happen," because we don't know.
But this is what happens.
And this is what could happen.
And this is my intention for what I want to happen.
So the more you do, the higher the odds that this will happen.
And that is something you can control.
