I’m closing out my 10th year of the Marketing Mentor podcast with the 15th episode in my series of meaty chats with Michael e. Stern, a time lapse filmmaker (and so much more, as I goaded him in this episode when he gave his elevator pitch).
In this episode, Michael shares proven strategies for dealing with tricky situations with prospects without losing your self-respect, from crazy demands to contract conflicts.
I have especially appreciated his attitude of autonomy and he always has quotable tidbits -- my favorite from today’s chat is about the value of talking to all prospects who find you:
“You either win (the job) or you learn something. If nothing else, you have a chance to practice your spiel.”
We laughed more than usual during this conversation – he teased me about browbeating him and I teased him about being old. Truth is, we both have more than 30 years of experience to share with creative professionals young and old.
