The power of a good subject line

Hi, I'm Deidre. In my posts, I talk about my voyage down the road of self-employment as a web copywriter, my achievements and roadblocks along the way, and what I’m learning as I go (with Marketing Mentor as my guide).

I sent an email newsletter (Gee, this is uncomfortable…) and a prospect called and left this message:

“I like your old website but I love your new one. I have a project I need help on. Give me call.”

I revamped my website in January, and while it’s easy to think that once we announce something, everybody knows it—that’s just not true. Everybody receives information at different times. And this time, the combination of my newsletter and my website encouraged this prospect to call.

Was it the subject line? Or was it simply my presence in their time of need?

I can’t say for sure. But either way, having a newsletter is definitely helping my business.
