Hi, I'm Deidre. In my posts, I talk about my voyage down the road of self-employment as a website copywriter, my achievements and roadblocks along the way, and what I’m learning as I go (with Marketing Mentor as my guide).
I’m back! The wedding was great, and although my honeymoon tan lines are fading, my head is still in the clouds, a little. (Here is my latest newsletter, about how, like a total spaz, I sang my own wedding song.)
I’ve been settling back in slowly. Then, Ilise called to inform me that my lollygagging is over. She said cheerfully, “Today is the beginning of 2011!”
But I didn’t even get to open Christmas presents yet, Ilise! It’s only November.
Puzzled, I gave this concept some thought.
Fortunately, I see the benefits of my Marketing Machine working at the minute. Prospects are getting in touch. But these are the fruits of marketing efforts that were planted months ago. If I don’t continue to fuel my Marketing Machine, prospects won’t still be knocking on my door in 2011.
That’s why 2011 starts now. See? (As usual, Ilise is right.)
I just checked my financial goal, and I’ve got a ways to go. If I want to give my friends and family something besides happy thoughts for the holidays, I’d better get moving now!
I need 5 good jobs before the end of the year to meet my target.
But magical elves won’t deliver these projects, will they?
I’m following the Advanced eCalendar for the next two months to get me to my year end goal and start 2011 with a full pipeline.
My head might still be in the clouds, but clouds don’t pay the bills, meet goals, or buy holiday gifts. It’s amazing how much power we have over our own businesses. Let’s finish the year with a bang, and start the new year off right! (If you need Ilise to end your lollygagging – there’s a new Advanced Marketing Group starting the week of Nov. 15th!)
Who’s with me?
How many projects do you need to meet your 2010 goal?
