Direct outreach: for visual people

No matter what the critics say, people who are doing direct outreach are getting good response from their qualified prospects. No matter how much you hate it, it works. The trick is, to find the way it works best—for you.

Today, Tom Missler, from Missler Design Studio, shares the flow chart he created when he did direct outreach in the Beginner Marketing Group. He likes knowing exactly what to say in any scenario, and created this phone call flow chart to guide him visually.

The flow chart is better than having a script, because when you try to use a script, the person you’re talking to doesn’t have the same script! This visual method allows you to see, at a glance, what direction to take the conversation in.

Being well prepared is one of the best ways to ease any direct outreach nerves—so give Tom’s flow chart method a try.

A few months ago, Tom Tumbusch shared how he makes research calling more fun by making a game out of it. Check out Tom’s “Cold-calling bingo card.”

Need an extra kick to incorporate direct outreach into your marketing? A new marketing group starts the week of April 18th. Sometimes the best way—comes from having support and accountability.
