When I start working with people in my marketing groups, I hear them say things like: “I’m a shy person” or “I hate cold calling.”
But by the end of the process, these same people are boldly networking and reaching out to their ideal prospects – and getting positive response. They say, “Wow, I didn’t think I could do this! Is this me? I don’t recognize myself.”
Part of the marketing process involves letting go of preconceived ideas about what you think you can do. It gives you more latitude, and you might discover strengths you didn’t know you had. Maybe you’re “shy” in some situations, but also have the ability to go into “business mode” when necessary. With more options about who you are available, you can decide what to do when.
If you sense this could help you, check out the Beginner Marketing Group (it starts the week of April 18th). You could surprise yourself. Plus, I just launched It’s Who You Know: The Ultimate Networking Kit. It includes everything you need to network effectively—yes, even for “shy” people.
