I was watching a home renovation show where they overhauled a contactor’s house. He was so busy working on other people’s homes, that his went untouched for years! Though he had a mega-list of projects (renovate the bathroom, paint the dining room, finish the basement)—none got done (much to his wife’s dismay).
To make sure this doesn’t happen to my own website, I’m keeping myself accountable by putting my plans out there for all to see. One of my to-dos is:
Open up content—let it breathe. Overall, I want to give the content room to breathe. For my clients, I say, “Let’s use the whole screen,” and I’m going to practice what I preach. On my homepage, the questions seem crammed—I’m going to listen to the Dixie Chicks and create wide open spaces.
