Create an Email
Newsletter in the
Email
Marketing Group for Creative Pros
If you find
yourself saying, "I really need to get my email newsletter out!"
Or, if you know you need to stay in front of your prospects and have
been thinking about an email newsletter but:
•
don’t know what to put in it
• don’t know who to send it to
• don’t know why your prospects would want it (there
are so many out there already!)
• but still, you think it’s probably a good idea…
...then the
Email Marketing Group is for you!
The goal of
this 4-month process is to create a prototype for your email marketing
campaign PLUS 6 months of material to stay in touch with prospects so
you can end -- once and for all -- the Feast or Famine Syndrome.
Here’s what
one Marketing Mentor client wrote an hour after sending out her recent
email newsletter:
"I'm
floored. I thought this was going to be a nonevent. I've never had this
happen before, but the phone rang immediately. I got one small job AND
got someone to call me that I've been *working on* for a long time. We
talked QR codes and the possibility of an app. I also received 7 emails
from people saying it is timely, they love it. 5 retweets!"
If those
are results you’d like for your business, join this group. In 4 months,
you’ll have:
- an email newsletter that reflects your business goals
and speaks directly to your target market(s)
- a step by step plan to stay in touch with your best
prospects
- an editorial calendar to keep you on track with your
ideas
- a growing list of prospects to send your email
newsletter to
- at least 6 months worth of material to send to your
best prospects
- tips for how to write a subject line that engages
your readers and compels them to read rather than hit “delete”
- tactics for using social media to spread the word
about your newsletter and get others to sign up
- recommendations for which email marketing services
are best for creative professionals
- actual, practical experience creating an email
newsletter from start to finish
Don't worry
if you're not a "writer."
Many email
marketing efforts have very few words. Some are just images with
captions and links to other web sites. The writing isn't what matters.
It's all about keeping your visibility high with content that is of
value to the people in a position to hire you.
With all Marketing Mentor Groups, you also
get:
- Feedback and a sounding board of non-competitive
colleagues
- Accountability to keep you on track so you finish
creating your marketing materials
- Advice and encouragement to keep going, even when it
seems challenging
- Guidance from Ilise Benun, who has spent the past 24
years helping creative professionals generate new business.
How it all works
Format
The group meets every other week for a 60-minute conference call
(actual date and time is determined by participants’ schedules). The 8
one-hour conference calls are recorded for listening again and again.
The calls are highly interactive with a focus on direct feedback on
each assignment. The groups are kept small, with no more than 6 members
in each so that each group member gets personal attention on each call.
Over the 8 conference call, we will cover these 6 lessons:
- Lesson 1: Research. Analyze email marketing messages
and newsletters of other creative professionals (including your
competition).
- Lesson 2: Brainstorm Your Content. Strategize
how to customize yours to your target markets, figuring out what they
would want to receive from you.
- Lesson 3: First draft of content for your
prototype.
- Lesson 4: Second draft of content with layout. Pull
it all together, layout and images, subject lines, calls to action and
examples of work in context.
- Lesson 5: Finish prototype and create editorial
calendar. Outline and draft content for 6-12 months.
- Lesson 6: Wrap up.

"I took your newsletter course last December and to date, I've
published seven editions! Matter of fact, I secured a very financially
rewarding training assignment this summer from one of my catalog
marketer subscribers. And other subscribers have told me how much they
enjoy the newsletter. So thanks again for helping me get my newsletter
off the ground. Taking your course was money well spent!"
