Hi, I'm Deidre. In my posts, I talk about my voyage down the road of self-employment as a web copywriter, my achievements and roadblocks along the way, and what I’m learning as I go (with Marketing Mentor as my guide).
My old website just wasn’t cutting it anymore. So, part of my attack on 2012 was swapping my old website (that I created in Website Tonight) for a new, custom WordPress website. Not only do I like the look and functionality better, but I’m surprised to see it’s also getting more traffic.
My site always had meta tags, but somehow (by switching to WordPress?), I’m getting a lot more visitors. I just checked my Google Analytics to discover:
Average visitors per day
Before the launch – 2
Since the launch – 8
I’m sure some of it could be marketing related. I am doing more outreach. But even in weeks where I’m not reaching out—I’ve noticed a big increase. The new site includes a “blog” where I post my monthly un-newsletters. Could this “fresh content” be the reason? Or is it simply WordPress magic?
