Making “no” easier

Hi, I'm Deidre. In my posts, I talk about my voyage down the road of self-employment as a copywriting partner to designers, my achievements and roadblocks along the way, and what I’m learning as I go (with Marketing Mentor as my guide).

I’m a writer, but I’ll be the first to admit: there are
things I can’t write.

Well, I
probably could write them—but I’d know
somebody else could do it better. That’s not the kind of work I want to provide.
I want to give my clients top-notch writing that will really work for them.

I’m best at:

  • Writing personality-filled website copy for
    designers and their clients
  • Helping service providers connect warmly and
    authentically with their ideal clients

Everything else is not my strong suit.

Lately I’ve been thinking that I need to meet more writers.
So this morning, I posted Are you a
writer? Please say hello…
 on the CFC LinkedIn Group. If you’re a writer,
please say hello and share your specialty.

Perhaps if we have a good network, it will be
easier to say “no” because we have someone great to recommend. What do you
think?

This is yet another reason I’m excited to attend CFC in San
Francisco
(June 22-24)! Will you be there?
