Hi, I’m Deidre. In my posts, I talk about my voyage down the road of self-employment as a web copywriter, my achievements and roadblocks along the way, and what I’m learning as I go (with Marketing Mentor as my guide).
On my website and to my clients, I’m always talking about being authentic, speaking to our ideal clients’ needs, and sharing as much as we can about the way we work—but I don’t often talk about the direct outcomes of doing this.
Great clients have been finding me online lately. This is no-doubt largely because of Jill Lynn’s WordPress mastery—however, they’ve stayed, read, and gotten in touch because I was sharing info they wanted.
Years ago, when my website was less specific, random people would find me online and contact me with random requests, completely unrelated to what I do. Can you format a database for us? These days, as I share more about how I work, and particularly since adding my packages with pricing, people who reach out have already qualified themselves. They say things like:
- “I read your whole site and I’m ready to move forward with this package…”
- “I am confident you are the writer I’ve been looking for.”
- “I found your prices, have an idea of the cost involved, and for good copy – I’m certain it is worth it!”
Last time I talked about how I hired people based on their websites. Today, I realize that this is how people hire us too—if we provide the info that lets them.
Have you added packages to your website? Has this been happening to you too?
