Are you asking for the work?

Posted by Deidre Rienzo on

Hi, I'm Deidre. In my posts, I talk about my voyage down the road of self-employment as a web copywriter, my achievements and roadblocks along the way, and what I’m learning as I go (with Marketing Mentor as my guide).

Do we beat around the bush too much when it comes to getting work?

Maybe we should just ask for it.

Hello everyone. If you need help with a writing project, hire me.

The situation is: There are 2 months left ‘til truth time. Yup, I’m talking about December 31st. The time when I will definitively answer the question, “Did I meet my yearly goal?”

Unfortunately, I’ve avoided “tallying” my income for a few months. Until today.

The cold hard facts: To meet my yearly goal, November and December will need to be two of my best months ever.

Maybe you’re in the same boat?
How the heck are we going to do this?

Initially I’m thinking:
• Reach out to new prospects.
• Reach out to past clients.

But what about this?
• Reach out to new prospects—and ask for work.
• Reach out to past clients—and ask for work.

Too forward?
If you’re racing to reach your yearend goal—what’s your plan?
