Hi, I'm Deidre. In my posts, I talk about my voyage down the road of self-employment as a copywriting partner to designers, my achievements and roadblocks along the way, and what I’m learning as I go (with Marketing Mentor as my guide).
Remember those yearly goals we set back in January? With 26 days left in 2013—it’s time to check-in. Are you almost there? A long way off? Or maybe you already exceeded your goal? Here’s my latest:
My goal for 2013 is to make $8000 more than I did in 2012. Technically, the income from my unexpected stint in Corporate America put me over my goal. But without counting that money, I’m still $4000 away. I have two options:
- I could finish up the project I’m working on–and then fill my days with online holiday shopping and other year-end fluff until 2014 gets here because “technically” I’m over my yearly goal.
- I could be honest and work extra hard to make the $4000. Even if it’s not possible, I can try my best!
A great runner once told me, “You should train your body to finish strong. Even if you’re crawling to the finish line—crawl harder.” I do this when jogging, and it makes me feel capable and strong. I know that regardless of the outcome, the same goes for my business.
Let’s finish 2013 strong. Are you with me?
